Two letters of recommendation should be obtained from college/university faculty members, professional supervisors or others familiar with the applicant’s academic and professional competence. At least one letter should be from an academic reference.

A current resume or curriculum vitae is 要求.

The GRE is optional. Scores submitted are preferred to be at least 65% on the verbal section with a writing score of at least 3.5. If you elect not to submit GRE scores, a writing sample is 要求.

Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master’s degree at a U.S. institution, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet the following minimums.

In approximately 1,000 words, explain 

• your interest in journalism and your view of its place in society;

• your career goals in journalism; and

• your interests, experiences, and the academic or professional achievements you bring to the program.
